San Pedrillo Ranger Station

Established in 1975, Corcovado National Park protects over 42,500 hectares of rainforest along Costa Rica’s remote Osa Peninsula. A scenic 25–30 minute boat ride brings you to San Pedrillo, home to pristine primary rainforest. Keep an eye out for three resident monkey species — the mantled howler, the Central American spider monkey, and the white-faced capuchin — along with a dazzling variety of birds, coatis, tapirs, and agoutis. San Pedrillo also offers Corcovado’s best odds of a puma sighting, with roughly a 50% chance on any given tour. Depending on group size, a visit to a nearby waterfall for a refreshing swim may be arranged — a great option to request for private tours.

What to bring: Lightweight walking shoes are recommended, as the San Pedrillo trail has some gentle ups and downs — hiking boots are also fine if you’re used to them. Water shoes for getting in/out of the boat, long or short pants (your choice), a rain jacket (rainy season), sunscreen, insect repellent, camera/binoculars, a dry / waterproof bag, and a reusable or metal water bottle. Outside food is not permitted inside the park.

Sirena Biological Station Tour

Established in 1975, Corcovado National Park protects over 42,500 hectares of rainforest along Costa Rica’s remote Osa Peninsula. Venture into Sirena Ranger Station to experience the true wild of Costa Rica.
Enjoy a scenic 1 hour 20 minute boat ride to Sirena, the most wildlife-dense station in Corcovado. Once there, hike approximately 4 hours along shaded rainforest trails with a knowledgeable guide, who shares historical stories and a deep understanding of the wilderness along the way. See wildlife up close, and even closer through the lens of your guide’s scope — from all four of Costa Rica’s monkey species (the mantled howler, spider monkey, white-faced capuchin, and squirrel monkey) to tapirs, coatis, white-lipped peccaries, agoutis, lizards, crocodiles, and countless bird species, set against a backdrop of rich native plants and trees. Before heading back, enjoy a full plate lunch, and take a moment to browse the on-site shop and informational museum.

Overnight Sirena Expedition

Experience Corcovado in its most immersive form with an overnight stay at Sirena Biological Station.
After a scenic 1 hour 20 minute boat ride, enjoy the same rich wildlife encounters as the Sirena day tour — all four monkey species, tapirs, coatis, peccaries, and more. Night hikes are not permitted inside the park, so instead you’ll head out for an early-morning hike the next day, when wildlife activity is at its best.
We recommend packing light, comfortable clothing for the evening. Please bring a flashlight or a fully charged phone to use as a light source, as electricity at the station is shut off at 8:00 PM. A towel and soap are provided by the lodge.

Why Corcovado Is Unique
Good to Know:
Corcovado is a remote and protected rainforest. Conditions can be hot, humid, and physically demanding. Trails may include mud, uneven terrain, and river crossings. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but Sirena and San Pedrillo offer excellent opportunities. All visitors must enter with a certified guide, and advance reservations are required due to limited daily permits.
