Our Policies

Nightly Rate (room only) includes:

• Your private bungalow
• All three daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
• Unlimited coffee and fresh natural fruit juices
• Costa Rica’s 13% tax (already included in the published price)

Nightly Rate does NOT include:

• Transportation to/from Sierpe or the local airstrip
• Laundry service

Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks (available for purchase at the bar)

Packages (2, 3, 4, or 5 nights) include everything above, plus:

• Round-trip transportation from Sierpe or the local Drake Bay airstrip
• Laundry service
• The specific tour(s) listed with each package (Corcovado National Park, Caño Island snorkeling, etc.)
• Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are not included in any rate or package and are available for purchase at the bar.

As Drake Bay Greenleaf is a small and exclusive property, we require at least 60 days’ notice prior to arrival for a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations received fewer than 60 days before arrival are non-refundable.

No-show reservations will not receive a refund. Likewise, no refunds will be issued for unused portions of reservations, tours, transportation services, or local charter flights.

In the event of a natural disaster — such as an earthquake, hurricane, or similar unforeseen circumstance — all deposits and payments will be applied as credit toward a future stay. No refunds will be issued in such cases; credit only.

Families and children are welcome at Drake Bay Greenleaf. Our rooms are designed for double occupancy; however, additional guests may be accommodated depending on room availability and configuration.

An extra bed may be added to a room for an additional charge of $50 per night. For reservations with more than two guests, additional charges will apply based on the number of guests and room arrangement.

Tours canceled 30 or more days before the scheduled date incur a fee of $50 per person. Tours canceled fewer than 30 days in advance are non-refundable and must be paid in full.

We regret that pets are not permitted on the property.

Guests who wish to bring wine or beverages from their personal collection will be charged a corkage fee of $10 per bottle.

• A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
• The remaining balance is due 60 days before the arrival date.
• All reservations must be paid in full prior to arrival.

Once your reservation is confirmed, our team will send you a secure payment link through WeTravel, where most major credit and debit cards are accepted.

WeTravel processing fees apply: a 2% fee for debit card payments, and a 5% fee for credit card payments. These fees are charged by WeTravel, not by Drake Bay Greenleaf.

If you prefer to avoid these fees, payment can also be made by international bank/wire transfer to our Costa Rica bank account or via PayPal; in both cases, the guest is responsible for any transfer or processing fees charged by the bank or PayPal. Bank account details will be provided directly by our reservations team upon request.

Walk-in reservations may be accepted based on availability.

All rates include the 13% Costa Rican tax (IVA).

Transportation from Sierpe or the local airstrip to the hotel is included only in packages that specifically include transportation services. Room-only (nightly rate) reservations do not include transportation.

Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are not included in room rates and are available for purchase at the bar.

Costa Rican law prohibits smoking indoors and in common areas. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
